Elementary Physical Education Teacher Middle School Science Teacher THE FOREST PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT HONORS SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS FOR ANNUAL RECOGNITION MONTH The FPSD is joining 537 local and 56 intermediate school districts across Michigan to celebrate January as School Board Recognition Month. School board members represent the views and priorities of their community in the complex system of maintaining and running a district’s public schools. They also reinforce the principle of local control over public education, which is an important, highly valued aspect of education in Michigan. The school board’s main goal is to support student achievement. Thank you to all of our school board members, past and present! Our current school board members are pictured below. L to R: James Nocerini, William Leonoff, Mike Bjork, William St. John, Dr. Deb Divoky, Michael Brzoznowski, Troy Margoni. WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR OUR NEW FLOORING AND BATHROOMS!! Click here for lots of pictures of this project! On the official November ballot in 2017, the Forest Park taxpayers approved, by 70%, a 1.0 mill Sinking Fund. This Sinking Fund was approved for 10 years (until 2027). This fund was approved for construction or repair of school buildings and all other purposes authorized by law and state agency interpretation. The approximate amount of revenue that is collected yearly exceeds $230K. This year, the district has purchased new carpeting for the hallways, new luxury vinyl tile (LVT) for the hall between the gym and cafeteria, the bathrooms by the cafeteria, the elementary office spaces, and new bathroom partitions and toilets in the men’s and women’s bathrooms by the cafeteria/gym. We will also be completing an elevator upgrade over spring break and installing new doors at two exterior locations, along with some key fob updates in areas needing service. Future Sinking Fund revenue will be used to replace 3 additional boilers (over 20 years old) and replacing aging areas of our roof. The Forest Park School District thanks you for your support. Without your support, these upgrades are simply not affordable within the annual General Fund budget. Again, THANK you taxpayers for your support!!

Breakfast & Lunch

Lunch Menu We are pleased to inform you that our Forest Park School District will be implementing a new provision available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). What does this mean for you and your child(ren)? All enrolled students in our school district, regardless of income level, are eligible to receive a healthy school breakfast and school lunch at no charge each day. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application. The CEP is a new alternative to the traditional meal application process associated with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. CEP alleviates the burden on families by eliminating household applications, while helping schools reduce costs associated with collecting and processing those applications. A la carte and additional lunch extras will be charged to students’ school lunch accounts. For more information: https://www.fns.usda.gov/cn/community-eligibility-provision
